Gael B Bertolino
May 8, 1937 - February 11, 2018

MADISON: Gael Beverly Bertolino, age 80, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2018, at The Villa at Middleton Village nursing home. She was born May 8, 1937 in Pence, WI, the daughter of James and Doris(Robbins) Bertolino of Oregon, WI.

Gael received her Bachelor's degree from UW Oshkosh and earned a Master's degree in Journalism and Mass Communications from the University of Wisconsin in Madison. She had held several marketing positions in the Madison area. She was particularly proud of being part of a choir that sang at Mass for the Pope in St Peter's Basilica in 1995. She had travelled extensively in the last fifteen years with the love of her life, Norman Micke.

Gael is survived by her three children: Denise Hanson of Wausau, Gerilyn (Mitch) Dumask of Wausau. And Steve (Ann) Werra of Stevens Point; and grandchildren: Troy Sankey, Todd (Kelsey) Sankey, Lance Sankey, Mitchell Dumask, Jordan and Dillon Piotrowski, Nathan, Ryan, and Jenny Werra; great grandchildren: Jessalyn and Breanna Inman, Kolton and Connor Sankey, Delilah Foster, Shiloh Piotrowski, Gael's life partner, Norman Micke; brothers: Jim (Anita) Bertolino, Dennis (Gail) Bertolino, Daryl (Rita) Bertolino, and sisters: Renee (John) Harlow and Valerie (Steve) Lehman.

She was preceded in death by: her parents: James and Doris Bertolino, her sister, Jackie Woodruff, Mel Werra (the father of Gael's children), granddaughters Jullyn Sankey and Amber Piotrowski, and great grandson Trenton Inman.

Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, February 16, 2018 at Cress Center, 6021 University Ave., Madison. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until the time of service.

Family would like to thank Gael's caretakers at The Villa at Middleton Village, care givers Marie Fleming and Ebony Carter, and Hospice of Dane County. In lieu of flowers, family would welcome contributions to the Alzheimer's Association.
