Ione Schuster, 99, of Callender, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2018 at the Fort Dodge Villa Care Center. A private service will be held at a later date. The Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services are in charge of arrangements.
Ione is survived by her daughter, Jean McMahon of Fort Dodge and her son, Joseph (Mary) Schuster of Callender; 6 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Evelyn Schuster of Fort Dodge and many nieces and nephews.
Ione is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Frank, 3 great grandchildren, Orrin Schuster, James and Samantha Fredregill also her brother Verlie Knutson and her sister Luella Sollie.
Ione Arleta Knutson was born February 19, 1918 on a farm near Callender to Albert and Hannah (Hanson) Knutson and graduated from Callender Public High School. Ione and her husband Frank farmed for many years. Ione worked as an interior decorator for Sears for many years. After her retirement she worked at Callender Grocery.
The family invites friends and family to a Celebration Of Life on Sunday, February 18 at 2:00 PM at the home of Joe Schuster, 918 Thomas Street in Callender.
