Deloris Yvonne Babb, 81, passed away Monday February 12, 2018. Service: 10 am Friday February 16, 2018 at Westminster Presbyterian Church of Fort Worth. Visitation: 6 pm to 8 pm Thursday February 15 at Laurel Land. Interment: 11 am Saturday Feb 17 at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa Tx. Yvonne was born in Bloomberg, Texas to James and Maude Endsley on September 30, 1936. The family moved to Odessa during one of the many oil booms that Odessa has experienced. Yvonne was born in Bloomberg, Texas to James and Maude Endsley on September 30, 1936. The family moved to Odessa during one of the many oil booms that Odessa has experienced. She finished High School and graduated from Odessa High School.
She was a devoted mother and gave birth to four children, Robert, Johnny, Donna, and Tommy. In the late 70's she began a real estate career and became a real estate Broker in the blossoming Odessa market.
In 1983 she married Fred Babb, and inherited two more children, Paul and David. She moved to Argyle, Texas and traded in her real estate career to become a Food Service Director for Briarwood Camp and Conference Center where Fred served as Director. Her cooking skills flourished as she prepared meals for campers and conferees alike. She became famous for her chili and her bread pudding. In 1987 they moved to Arkansas and took up the same positions at Ferncliff Camp and Conference Center which flourished under her cooking and his leadership. In 1997 Fred returned to the pastorate and Yvonne traded in her apron to become the wife of the Pastor at the First Presbyterian Church in Junction, Texas. In 2000 they both retired and moved to Crowley, Texas which put her right in the middle of her children, her grandchildren, and great grandchildren. In 2016 she came down with a blood disorder that would take her life on Monday, February 12, 2018.
Yvonne is preceded in death by one granddaughter. She is survived by: husband, Fred H. Babb; children, Robert Dyer and wife Pinky, Johnny Dyer and wife Donna, Donna McFatter and husband Donnie, Tommy Dyer and wife Mindy, Paul Babb and wife Lisa, David Babb and wife Nan; fourteen grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren.
