Brenda Kay Redmond Parks, age 66 of Winchester, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2018 at her residence. She was born in Maryville, Tennessee on October 31, 1951 to the late James and Mary Ruth Everhart Redmond. Kay was currently employed by the Franklin County School System as a librarian at Franklin County High School, where she had worked for over forty years, and was an active member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Franklin County Education Association, and Tennessee Education Association. Kay coached the Franklin County Academic Bowl team for many years, and she enjoyed cross-stitch, going to the theater, and reading. In addition to her parents Kay is preceded in death by her husband, John A. Parks. She is survived by her son, Jonathan A. (Holli) Parks of Estill Springs; daughter, Kathryn E. Parks of Winchester; and grandchildren, Colton A. Parks, Ellasyn Claire Parks, and Oliver W. Parks. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Sunday at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am Monday, February 19, 2018 in the Moore-Cortner Chapel. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens.
