Jana Lou Brower-Havel
March 16, 1935 - February 17, 2018

Jana Lou Brower-Havel, age 82 of Prairie City, passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2018, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton. Private family graveside services will be held at Waveland Cemetery in Prairie City. Memorials may be directed to the Prairie City Public Library or the Prairie City Ambulance. The daughter of Paul and Thelma (VerSteeg) Popma, Jana was born on March 16, 1935 in Knoxville, Iowa She graduated from Central College and taught school. On March 24, 1957, she was united in marriage to John Brower. He passed away in 1996. She then married Norman Havel on January 15, 2000. Jana was a member of the Prairie City United Methodist Church and P.E.O. She enjoyed playing bridge, sewing and decorating her house. Most of all she loved the time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Norm; two daughters, Lene (Craig) Johnson and Dee (Don) Underwood; a step daughter, Beth (John) Hallerud; three grandchildren, Adam (Jessica) Johnson, Jamie Johnson and Chris Hallerud; three great grandchildren, Keaton, Kamden, and Izzy; and two sisters, Judy (John) Burnett and Darla (Gene) Robuck. Preceding Jana in death were her parents and her first husband, John Brower.
