"Uncle Frank was a special man to many people. I had the privilege of spending 2 summers with him, Aunt Marilynn, Janell and Nolan during my teen age years. He loved to make people laugh and he loved to laugh. His trust in God was evident in every aspect of his life. He had a way to make things seem weighty and light at the same time. My fondest memory will always be the bike trip that we took from Minnesota to Michigan during the summer of 1981. My most tender memory will be how he helped care for my mom who was dying with cancer even while he was fighting cancer himself. My kids will always remember Uncle Frank and Aunt Marilynn as the ones who drove the really cool RV! We will miss him dearly. Aunt Marilynn, Janell and Nolan we will keep you in our prayers. Frank S. Fox, 82 of Rochester, MN died Monday, February 19, 2018 at his residence.
Frank Shaw Fox was born August 14, 1935 to Frank and Lura (Robertson) Fox in San Diego, CA. He graduated from Grossmont High School in San Diego, CA and was a college graduate of the University of CA at Davis. He received his Master's Degree from the University of Montana and his RN Degree from Rochester Community College. On December 10, 1960 he married Marilynn Climenhaga in Clarence Center, NY. The couple moved to Rochester, MN where he worked as a Registered Nurse at Saint Marys in the Cardiac Unit. After his retirement he worked as a volunteer for 15 years with Roving Volunteers in Christ Service (RVICS). He enjoyed riding bicycle, horseback riding and helping his neighbors and friends. Frank had been an Airman, fireman, teacher, computer programmer, farmer, Nurse and an accomplished "jack of all trades."
He is survived by his wife, Marilynn of Rochester, MN; one daughter, Janell Fox of Palisade, CO; one son, Nolan (Darcy) Fox of Rochester, MN; five grandchildren, David, Derek, Ryan, Emily and McKenna; and one sister, Tudy (Pike) Hollett of Sand Point, ID. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 23, 2018 at Christ Community Church with the Pastor Greg Loy officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Burial will take place at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Preston, MN.

"Uncle Frank (my wife's uncle by marriage), as I have known him, will be remembered for his engaging conversation, his wry wit, his enthusiastic helpfulness, and his tireless promotion of physical activity, especially cycling. On more than one occasion he helped with projects around our house in Cattaraugus, NY. Not long after we moved there we had cause to look into the electrical service box together. He looked it over, looked at me, and in his jocular yet serious way asked, "Are you trying to burn the place down?" I laugh to think of it now, but the previous occupants had replaced the 15 amp fuses with 30 amp fuses, a serious hazard when the wiring is rated for 15 amps at best. Although I am sure we will see Frank on the other side, we will greatly miss Uncle Frank in this life, and hold Marilynn and the family in our sympathies and prayers. Neil Stern"
