Douglas Ross Welsher
July 9, 1947 - February 20, 2018

Douglas Ross Welsher, 70, of Hampton, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center - North Iowa in Mason City, Iowa.  
He was born July 9, 1947, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Ross and Donna (Fergus) Welsher.  

Doug attended Hampton High School and later graduated from a community college in Denver, Colorado, with an associate degree in general education. He later attended Buena Vista University and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in management. He was united in marriage to Mary Thornton in Lake City, Minnesota, on January 11, 1969.  Doug served his country in the United States Army.  He also owned and operated his own construction business.  Doug attended Catholic Church with his wife, Mary. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, livestock and attending sporting events. Doug especially enjoyed spending time with his family.  

Doug is survived by his wife Mary of Hampton, daughter Laura (Christopher) Kaczorowski of Anchorage, Alaska, son Douglas Welsher II of Des Moines, grandchildren Kayla Welsher of Des Moines, Kara Welsher of Dubuque, Isabella Kaczorowski of Anchorage, Alaska, Augustus Kaczorowski of Anchorage, Alaska, brother Greg (Bonnie) Welsher of Hampton, sister Marla Sweeney of Sedona, Arizona.  

He was preceded in death by his parents.
