Ralph Berky
February 9, 1930 - February 20, 2018

Ralph Berky, a resident of Shannondell at Valley Forge, died Tuesday, February 20, 2018 in the Einstein Medical Center Montgomery surrounded by his loving family. He was 88 years old.

Born in Oaklyn, NJ, he was the son of the late John and Katie (nee DeLong) Berky.

Ralph proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He had a career as an Electrician and was the proprietor of Berky-Deens Electric, Inc for 31 years prior to his retirement. Mr. Berky was an Ambler Police Officer for a few years and a member of FOP Lodge 14. He was a Life Member of the Wissahickon Fire Company and served as President from 1961 to 1963. He was in Civil Air Patrol Squadron 909, which met at Gwynedd Mercy College. Ralph was a Master Mason and a member of Fritz Lodge #308 and the Lehigh Consistory.

Ralph and his wife Georgia Anne moved to Shannondell at Valley Forge in 2004 as part of the First 100 Founding Members. He discovered a talent for wood carving and enjoyed developing his craft. He could often be found relaxing in the Billiard room. Ralph was an active member of the ROMEO's, otherwise known as Really Old Men Eating Out.

Ralph was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 64 years, Georgia Anne (nee Deens) in 2017. He is the devoted father of Jeffrey A. Berky and his wife Kathy of East Norriton; Sheree L. Berky of Blue Bell; and Lynn A. McNeill and her husband Daniel of Bristol Township. He was also predeceased by his dear son Mark, who died in 1973 at the age of 14. Ralph is the proud grandfather of seven grandchildren: Gwendolyn, Alexis, Jason, Stacy, Katie, Dana and Daniel, and three great-grandchildren: Ella, Landon and Beau.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday February 24, 2018 from 10:30 to 11:30 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1190 Valley Forge Road, Fairview Village, PA 19409. A Celebration of Ralph's Life will follow at 11:30AM officiated by Pastor Janet Peterman. Interment will be private.
