Edward "Ed" Hanenberger, Sr.
October 4, 1935 - February 23, 2018

Funeral services for Ed Hanenberger will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday March 1, 2018 at Peace United Church of Christ in Rochester, with the Reverend Paul Bauch officiating. Visitation will be from 4pm to 7pm at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home in Rochester on Wednesday Feb 28, 2018, and one hour before the service on Thursday at the church.
Interment will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Rochester Minnesota.
Ed Hanenberger, 82, passed away with his family around him on Friday February 23, 2018 at Cottagewood Senior Community in Rochester from complications of Lewy Body Dementia.
Edward Peter Hanenberger Sr. was born October 4, 1935 in Predmore Minnesota to William and Vella (Parker) Hanenberger.
Ed married Gloria Joan Williams on August 9, 1957 in Rochester Minnesota and she preceded him in death on December 31, 2006.
Ed attended elementary school at district 67 school, and graduated from Rochester High School in 1955. After high school Ed worked on the family farm for a short time and then worked for Erdman's Super Value grocery store. Ed also worked as a technician for Culligan of Rochester for 45 years, and also delivered the Minneapolis Tribune morning paper for over 50 years in the Rochester area.
Ed enjoyed working on cars, watching his children and grandchildren play in the pool in his backyard, watching wrestling, fishing, and sitting on the deck enjoying the sunshine.
Survivors include five children; Peg (Brian) Tlougan, Judy (Rodger) Hagstrom, Deb (John) Frey, Sue (Ryan) Siegle, Ed Hanenberger Jr. all of Rochester, 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 8 step grandchildren, and 12 step great grandchildren. Other survivors include 2 brothers Roy Hanenberger, Walter (Marie) Hanenberger, Sister in-law Lois Hanenberger, brother in-law Jim (Jan) Williams all of Rochester, and sister in-law Shelia Miller of Montclair CA. Ed was preceded in death by his wife, parents, 4 brothers, 2 sisters, and 1 great grandson.
Memorials are preferred to the Muscular Dystrophy Association and Lewy Body Dementia Association.
