Linda Kay Kain, age 77 of Prairie City, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at Taylor House - Hospice in Des Moines with her loving husband at her side. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, February 28, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Reformed Church in Prairie City. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, February 27, 2018, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. also at the church. The daughter of Clyde "Joe" and Wilma "Billie" (Jarnagin) Waters, Linda was born on September 25, 1940 in Prairie City, Iowa. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1958. On September 26, 1958, she was united in marriage to Ronald E. Kain in Prairie City. Linda played the organ at the Morgan Valley Church for many years. She enjoyed square dancing, cooking, reading and fishing. Her greatest joy was her family, especially attending her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren's numerous activities. Linda is giving the gift of life back to those in need as an organ donor through the Iowa Donor Network.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband of almost 60 years, Ronald E. Kain; her children Jeff (Angie) Kain, Kelly (Patti) Kain, Scott (Denna) Kain, Rhonda (Doug) Vander Beek and Rory (Julie) Kain; 13 grandchildren, Amber (Jon) Scearcy, Jordan Kain, Dusty (Kelli) Kain, Trent (Jen) Kain, Ethan Kain, Lexi Kain, Alyssa (Bret) Grier, Drew (Anna) Vander Beek, Brandon (Katie) Kain, Ashlee Kain, Ellie Kain, Dylan Farver and Drew Farver; and 11 great grandchildren, Lincoln, Anora, Sylvia, Paisley, Tucker, Kadence, Nixon, Kenna, Jase, Emma, and Caroline. Preceding Linda in death were her parents.
