Bennie Lee Fank

Bennie Fank, 85, of Allison, Iowa, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2018, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo.

Bennie Lee Fank, son of William and Minnie (Kneppe) Fank, was born on September 5, 1932, in Parkersburg, Iowa. He became a member of the Congregational Church in Parkersburg in his youth and was married there on October 29, 1952, to Frances Marie Rieman. They had a daughter Sally Ann in 1956; she preceded them in death on November 30, 2016. Bennie served his country in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954 as a Staff Sargent, spending fourteen months in Korea. After discharge he started farming and worked at the Allison lumber yard, Bauman livestock and drove school bus for Allison Bristow for many years. Bennie and Frances moved into Allison in November of 2002. He was a member of Trinity Reformed Church in Allison and served many years as a Deacon. Bennie was also a member of the Allison Amvets and American Legion.

Bennie is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Frances Fank of Allison.

He was preceded in death by his parents William and Minnie, daughter Sally, brother Bill and his wife Lavalle Fank, sister Marie and her husband Ray Heine and brother-in-law Gale Wiebke.
