Stanley Smith
March 21, 1928 - February 23, 2018

Stanley Smith, age 89, of Ambler, died Friday, February 23, 2018 in Abington Hospital-Jefferson Health.

Born in Upper Dublin, Stanley was the son of the late Francis and Helen (nee Narybecka) Smith.

Mr. Smith was a Master Mechanic and foreman of the Upper Dublin Township Motor Pool for thirty three years, prior to his retirement in 1995. He was a Life Member of the Fort Washington Fire Company Station #88 since 1944, serving as an active firefighter and member of the fire police. Stanley honorably served his country from 1950 to 1952 in the United States Army and was a proud member of American Legion Post #10, the V.F.W. and the F.O.P.

Stanley enjoyed family outings to Atlantic City and Ocean City, NJ.

Stanley is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Angelina "Angie" (nee Melograna) Smith. He is the devoted father of Stanley Smith and his wife Mary Jane, of Ambler; and Frank Smith and his wife JoAnn, of Ambler. He is the proud grandfather of seven and is also a great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his sister Nancy Krout.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday, March 3, 2018 from 9:15 to 10:45 AM at the Anton B. Urban Funeral Home. Words of remembrance will begin at 10:45 AM. Stanley's Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 AM with Rev. Stephen Paolino as celebrant. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

Donations in Stanley's memory to the Fort Washington Fire Company, 1245 Fort Washington Avenue, Fort Washington, PA 19034 would be appreciated by the family.
