Grace A. Ernster, 95, of Rochester, MN died Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Chosen Valley Care Center in Chatfield, MN.
Grace Adell Konzen was born November 26, 1922 to Anthony and Rose (Klosterman) Konzen in Holy Cross, Iowa. Grace grew up in Dyersville, IA. On August 18, 1942 she married John Ernster in Dyersville, IA. The couple moved to Des Moines, IA, then back to Dyersville and moved to Spring Valley, MN in 1962. She worked in the library at the High School in Spring Valley and also worked in the cafeteria at IBM. The couple moved to Rochester, MN in 1973. John died in 1997. Grace loved attending parties, watching the MN Twins and MN Vikings, her kids and grandkids sporting events and crocheting.
Grace is survived by her children, Phyllis Ruzek of St. Charles, MN, Les (Vicky) Ernster of Rochester, MN, Jeff (Vicki) Ernster of Spooner, WI and Shelly (Dave) Meyers of Eyota, MN; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Rose Ann (Donald) Von Lehmden of Dyersville, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister, Ramona Esch; and two brothers, Howard and Lester Konzen.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, March 2, 2018 at Pax Christi Catholic Church (4135 18th Avenue NW) with the Father Jonathan Fasnacht officiating. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
