Joe R. Myers

Joe R. Myers, 80, of Waterloo, died at Covenant Medical Center on Monday, February 26, 2018 of natural causes.   He was born July 10, 1937 in Waterloo son of Joseph H. and Alice O. Hileman Myers. He married Sharon Ann Clark on December 2, 1961 at the St. John Catholic Church, Waterloo.   Joe graduated from West High School in 1955 and UNI in 1959 with a BA in History and Business. Joe and Sharon owned and operated Myers Electric Co. (an electrical contractor) for 56 years; Joe retired in 2015.   He was on the Waterloo Board of Electrical Examiners and Appeals and was a member of Waterloo Elks Lodge #290.   Joe enjoyed trout fishing, collecting coins and stamps, playing cards and was an avid history buff. He especially liked spending time with family. His grandchildren were the delight of his life.   He is survived by his wife: Sharon of Waterloo, daughter: Lori (Manuel) Macias of Davenport, and 3 grandchildren: Alyssa, Michael and Matthew Macias of Davenport.   Joe is preceded by his parents.
