In loving memory of

Levi Paul Heinold
April 1, 1958 - February 25, 2018

Levi Paul Heinold, 59, of Ridgeway, Colorado, died Sunday, February 25, 2018, near his home. He was born April 1, 1958 in Moses Lake, Washington to Thomas and Janet Obermann Heinold. On July 7, 1990, he married Melinda Hamerick on Hastings Mesa near Telluride, Colorado. They had two children, Alsace and Hayden.
Levi and Melinda had a plumbing and solar energy business for many years in Ridgeway.
As a young man, Levi narrowly escaped death in a vehicle accident which in turn gave him a great appreciation for being able to take advantage of what life had to offer. After being told that it would be unlikely for him to walk again, Levi walked the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine and the Pacific Crest Trail from Baja, Mexico to Canada. He loved to travel, ski, sail, mountain climb and snowmobile in the back country. In general he liked a good adventure, but above all else he loved his family and was a devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend.
Levi is survived by his wife, Melinda; daughter Alsace; Grandmother Alsace Heinold; brothers, Bret and Clint; many cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws. He was preceded in death by his son Hayden; his parents, Tom and Janet; grandparents, Paul and Gladys Obermann and Levi Heinold.
The funeral services for Levi and his mother, Janet, will be held at 2 PM Saturday, March 3, at Elliott Chapel, New London with Pastors Shane McCampbell and Dan Buck officiating. Visitation will begin at 9 AM with the family present to greet friends beginning at noon. Services in Colorado will be held at a later date.

"Not sure I would have done it that way, but we can make it work! Those first words from Levi let us know it would all be alright. A free spirit, infectious smile and a warm heart. He will be greatly missed. Never met a stranger he would not turn into a friend and always ready to help with a problem no matter the time of day!"

Ted Moews wrote on Mar 1, 2018:

"Ah. Levi. One -of-a-kind Levi. He had plenty of reason in his life to become embittered; he chose instead to embrace life, be positive, help others, & seek adventure... My kinda guy. How many people do you know who would go out on a Christmas night in a snowstorm-just to help someone out....He lived his life to the fullest, & deeply cared for his family. Melinda was the love of his life. Hayden & Alsaice are real characters & have made us all laugh at life-thanks to the way they were raised. Levi's take on life was to hit it head-on, full blast... filled with enthusiasm; made everyone around him smile-just to watch him blast on by. He was One of the Best! We are all gonna miss him..."
