Auntie J, allow me to say I feel your pain and deeply sorry for Mama Millie passing, she has lived a long and rich full life and now in heaven, no more pain. I know it's not going to be ease not seeing Mama Millie's beautiful face anymore, but just know she's with you always. Please stay strong and let's celebrate the life she lived and fondest memories you and the children shared with her. Iloria Chin Foo Smith, 85
Iloria Chin Foo Smith, age 85 formerly of Kingston (Jamaica), passed away on Monday, February 26, 2018. She was born to the late Charlie Chin Foo and Nerissa Withe on August 28, 1932. Iloria was married twice. Her first marriage with Rudolph Miller(deceased) yielded her only child Joan. Rudolph gave Iloria the infamous nickname "Millie". Her second marriage was to Sidney Smith(deceased).
Iloria started her working life as a cashier at a local grocery store (which had no register). From a young age Iloria was very good at math, which stemmed from working in her father's dry goods store. After her cashier job, Iloria managed a police station cafeteria. She eventually was able to acquire her own cafeteria business. When she migrated to the US in the 80's, she was able to take a few courses and became a Nurse's Aide. Although it was a whole new world, Iloria never missed a beat. Iloria had an uncanny ability to adapt to whatever environment she was placed in.
Iloria had a solution for every ailment. She was a firm believer in herbs and natural remedies. She took very good care of her family. Family and friends were Iloria's biggest passion. She was the life of every gathering. She loved to cook and entertain and frequently made big family meals. She also loved being home but was never idle. She was very crafty and was skilled in embroidery, crocheting, sewing, and large puzzles. She really made wherever she was home.
Iloria is survived by her daughter Joan, and her two grandchildren, Marlon and Gabriela. She also leaves behind many caring friends. The family wishes to thank all those who are in attendance as well as anyone who cared for Iloria .

"Nothing but great memories of an exceptional lady. Always quiet, pleasant and conversational. She made young people very comfortable around her at a time when many adults did not have any time for young people unless they were their own. I remember it was during the middle of my high school life when she, Joan and Mr. Miller moved onto the street where I lived. She and her family were just a few houses away, so, I had to pass where they lived as it was a dead-end street. The memories of me turning around numerous times from the direction I was heading so I could help her carry her shopping bags. Life is such a journey of surprises, connections and reconnections. I lost contact with the family from 1972 (migration) until one fateful day in 2005 when I ran into Joan. It turns out, unbeknownst to me, her grandson Marlon was best friends with my youngest son for quite some time - that has a jubilant moment for me. As we go through life, me meet many people, but, then there are those people who are indelible in our memory for whom they were, how they treated you, how they lived their lives and what you impact they made on your own life. It's was a bit of a surprise and quite a laugh when I found out after her death that the Gloria Miller I knew was actually Iloria Miller. I guess that confirms what has always been said - "Young people don't listen. May her soul Rest in Peace, and may Joan, Marlon and Gabriella find ways to find comfort through the cherished memories of their dearly departed Mother abd Grand-mother. From my family to your family, I convey our sincerest condolences at this extremely difficult time."
