Regina Waldon

Regina Waldon, 86, of Waterloo, passed away Cedar Valley Hospice Home on Tuesday, February 27, 2018. She was born on August 21, 1931, in Winthrop, the daughter of Lawrence V. and Nellie Gallery Callan. She married Robert R. Hunemiller on Jan. 7, 1950 at St. John's Catholic, Waterloo; he preceded her in death on November 3, 1961. She married John R. "Jack" Welch on October 18, 1972, in Macon, MO; he preceded her in death on November 14, 1995; She married Deane R. Waldon on September 19, 1997 at St. Edward Catholic Church, Waterloo; He preceded her in death on August 23, 2013. She graduated high school from Waterloo East High in 1949. Regina spent many years working as a secretary for John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works and John Deere Branch House and Parts Depot, Dallas, TX, and later returned to Waterloo to work as secretary for the General Manager at Chamberlain's Manufacturing Corp. She volunteered at Covenant Auxiliary and held most of the executive chairs on the Auxiliary Board. She was also a member of P.E.O. Chapter OF, serving the various chairs, as well as past president of P.E.O. Reciprocity. She enjoyed playing Bridge, reading, doing needlework, sewing, and other handcrafts. Regina is survived by her sister??'in??'law, Mary (David) Waldon Gabrick, of Waterloo, and brother??'in??'law Gary (Linda) Waldon, of Cedar Falls; two stepsons, J.P. Welch, of Waterloo, and Gary Waldon, of Summerville, NC; three stepdaughters, LaDonna (Paul) Fiskin, of Peoria, IL., Sherri (Kirk) Wilson, of Huntsville, AL., Linda (Ron) Rector, of Le Claire, IA.; and several nieces and nephews, step grandchildren, and step great-grandchildren. Regina preceded in death by her parents, three husbands, four sisters, Madeline Trotter, Ann Smith, Eleanor Maust, Pat Clark, and infant twin sisters, Betty and Beverly; and one infant brother, Fletcher Cullan.
