Funeral services for Mrs. Rita Ann Allen, age 60, of Hilham , will be conducted 2 p.m., Sunday , March 4, 2018 from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home. Bro. Ronnie McCowan will officiate. Burial will be in the Allen's Chapel Cemetery . The family will welcome friends on Saturday, March 3, 2018 from 5 until 8 p.m.
Mrs. Rita passed from this life on Thursday evening, March 1, 2018 from Overton County Health & Rehab in Livingston. She was born in Overton County, Tennessee on May 16, 1957 to the late Melissa V. Hammons. She was a housewife. She was also a member of the Aaron's Chapel Community Church. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, listening to country music, working in the garden, and spending time with her family and her flower garden.
She is survived by step-daughters, Carol Sue Decker of Algood, TN; Shelia Hastings of Cookeville, TN; sons, Jason Johnson of Georgia and Ryan Johnson of Hilham, TN; sisters, Patricia Hammons of Livingston, TN; Mary Linda Collins of Hilham, TN; Cindy Day of Cookeville, TN; sister-in-law, Myrtle Allen of Hilham, TN; brother-in-law, Albert Coffman of Livingston; 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; brothers, Willard Hammons of Hardy's Chapel and Mike Brown of Livingston, TN.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence A. Allen; brothers, Larry Hammons and Joseph Hammons; and great-grandson, Joe Lynn Mahann.
