Bette moved to Rochester in 1959 where she worked at the Kahler Hotel Cafe. She then stayed at home with her children for a few years. Bette then got persuaded to start out at Hanny's Mens Wear as a gift wrapper for the holiday season and never left. She finished her career at Hanny's as the Vice President. Bette's greatest joys in life stemmed around her family and friends. She spent countless hours attending her kids and grandkids school and sporting events. Her other joys in life were reading and having breakfast with her friends. And of-course anyone who knew Bette knew her love for shopping.

"Lynn, Steve and the whole Ferschweiler family, we are so sorry to hear of Bette's passing. We first met her when she would visit Steve & Dawn. She was very kind and gentle and always interested in what was going on with our family. Anthony remembers the time years ago when he and Steve aerated Lynn & Bette's yard and she was so appreciative and thankful that Anthony said she invited you guys in for snacks and beers. Our deepest sympathies to the Ferschweiler family!"
