"I couldn't believe it when I read about Lucille's passing. She was a great friend, wonderful 4-H chaperon and bowling partner. I loved her like my own Mother because she was always so funny, caring and attentive. I was still working as night nurse at Maquoketa Care when she was admitted. I spent a lot of visits to her room just to talk and remember the great times. She will be an angel for sure. Sympathy to your family because I am sure her leaving will leave a large gap. She had substitute taught all three of my sons and they couldn't believe that I was good friends with her...apparently she had their attention! Prayers and hoping God will help you get through this difficult time. "

"I've known Lucille all my life and have enjoyed working with her at the Historical Society. She and her mother had a positive influence on my life. Sunday, here in Texas, I was visiting with a former student of hers and we were talking about our experiences with Lucille. She was a special, one of a kind lady and we will miss her,"

"I was saddened to read about Lucille's passing. She was an important part of my life as she was my Junior High teacher at the Elwood school in the late 1950s. She was an interesting and excellent teacher. She prepared me well for high school as well as life with her teaching. It was always nice to connect with her on occasion whenever I would come back to the Maquoketa area. "

"So sorry for your loss. Lucille was quite the person to ask about so many things concerning family and events in the area. She will be missed,"
