Dolores Reyes
March 27, 1930 - March 2, 2018
Ruperta Dolores Reyes went to be with the Lord on Friday March 2, 2018.She passed away in her sleep after a brief illness in Port Charlotte. She was preceded in death by 2 sons;Jesse Serna-1991 and Salvador Reyes-2004,her mother Josefa Cervantez-2006,1 daughter Juana Cardenas-2015 and 1 grandson Josiah Blue Batten-2018.
Mrs. Reyes was born in Maxwell Texas on March 27,1930 to father Sylvestre Reyes and mother Josefa Cervantez, She was an only child.
She moved to Immokalee Florida from Crystal City, Texas in 1967 where she worked brieflly as a farmworker. She was then a stay at home mom and started taking care of her grandchildren while her daughters worked at different proffessions. She also took care of children from around the neighborhood whose parents worked in the fields.
She was a member of the Bethel Assembly of God church. She was a devout christian and she loved our Lord Jesus Christ.She was kind,loving,generous,humble,funny and she loved to tell jokes.She had a great sense of hummor.She was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who was in need.
She moved to Port Charlotte in 1992. Her hobbies were reading her bible, listening to christian music,knitting,crocheting,and working in her garden.She loved flowers especially roses.She also loved animals, cats, dogs and birds were her favoriteBut most of all she loved her family unconditionally. She will be greatly missed by family and friends and everyone that got to know her and loved her.
She is survived by 3 sons; Joel Ralph Reyes, Robert Serna, Leo Serna. 3 daughters; Maria Arredondo (Paulo) Rosa Goodnight (Pedro) Blanca Batten (Rod) 16 grandchildren 45 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
