Betty Jane Stanek was born July 10, 1945 in Fort Dodge. Betty was raised and educated in Moorland. In 1960, she was united in marriage to David Lowrey and the couple made their home in Fort Dodge. Betty was employed with Best Western Starlite for over 45 years. She was a very hard worker and enjoyed her customers. She grew up dancing at the Bohemian Hall. It was where she met her husband, David. Betty was always dressed beautifully. She enjoyed her beautiful flowers and her many wind chimes. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, very kind-hearted and giving. She taught us how to laugh daily, give generously, and love deeply. She loved her family and will be deeply missed.

"Betty was a staple of the Starlite restaurant. She was always so friendly and greeted everyone. I moved away from FD in 1997 and visited last year. Had Sunday brunch and was shocked Betty was still working there! We had a few laughs, she remembered my DJ days back in the 80's. God bless your soul Betty. You will be missed. "

Lisa Hiracheta Chia wrote on Mar 7, 2018:

"My most recent and favorite memory of Betty is at Deanne and Ted's wedding. Betty stood up and made a beautiful speech, toasted the bride and groom and spoke a blessing over them in Czechoslovakian. Betty was such a kind woman and always made me feel accepted, like one of the family. I appreciate her being the best mother and friend to my good friend Deanne. One day I was on the phone with her and told her all the wonderful things I thought about my friend Deanne and how I appreciated what she had poured into her. She felt honored to be the mother and grandmother/great-grand mother of her family, she felt she had done something right in life to have such a wonderful family. May the God of Heaven continue to watch over your families Deanne, Deb, and Blake and bestow upon you all His peace that passes all understanding. You are missed greatly Miss Betty, we will meet again one day, you are still in our future!"
