Roberta "Bobbie" (Ryan)
February 16, 1932 - March 4, 2018

Roberta "Bobbie" Joneson (Ryan) entered into eternal rest on March 4, 2018. Bobbie was born February 16, 1932, in Council Bluffs, Iowa to the late Robert and Effie "Jackie" (Riddle) Ryan. She attended the former Holy Family School in Council Bluffs from K-10th grade and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1949. She received her LPN training at Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Council Bluffs and completed her training as an RN at Iowa Western Community College. She was employed at Mercy Hospital until her retirement in 1994. From 1994 -2003, she was employed as a staff nurse at Bethany Lutheran Home. Bobbie was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Council Bluffs and was an active member in the Altar and Rosary Society as a eucharistic minister for the homebound. Nicknamed "The Church Lady" for having choreographed funeral luncheons at St. Pat's for 25 years. Her luncheon, however, will be catered in order to honor her specific request that there be, "no hard work for the church ladies!" She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, nurse and friend. Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents, infant brother, Charles, husband, Robert "Bob" Joneson who died August 9, 1972, son, Martin "Marty" Joneson in 2012; and grandson, Ryan Joneson in 2014. Survivors include sons, Dr. Robert "Rick" Joneson and wife, Diane, of Webster City, IA., Kelly Joneson and wife, Caril, of Omaha, Neb., Tracy Joneson and wife, Cindy, of Red Oak, IA.; daughters, Judge Gerellen "Geri" Joneson of Loveland, Colorado; Teresa "Teri" Yockey of Kansas City, Missouri; daughter-in-law Sharon Joneson of Council Bluffs; sisters, Jo Kathryn Cox and Ruth Brown; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. According to the 2018 Census, 17 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.
