Derrick R. Anderson
March 12, 1945 - March 3, 2018




Derrick Rathbourne Anderson was born on March 12, 1945 in Kingston, Jamaica to Kenneth and Minnie Anderson. He was the second son from this union. Derrick attended Excelsior High School in Jamaica graduating in the class of 1963. He furthered his education at York University in Canada, graduating with his master's in business administration. Derrick eventually left Canada with his young family and settled in Broward, County Florida where he spent the last nearly 40 years. A banker all his life, his customers always had immediate trust and rapport with him. Derrick was a beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend to many. He loved his family, friends, football, soccer, his Jamaican food, and reggae music. Known for his gentlemanly ways and unfailing kindness, he was also known for his sense of style and punctuality. He was a gentleman in all senses of the word. Derrick also had a giving spirit and never expected anything in return. It was his pleasure to help anyone that was in need. On Saturday, March 3, 2018, Derrick went home to be with the Lord.

Derrick leaves loving memories in the hearts of his children; Craig and Christine, mother; Minnie, brother; Kenneth, sisters; Vivienne and Cavell, granddaughters; Kayla and Emma and hosts nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends who knew him over these many decades.
