Joanne M. Albrecht, 87, of Sioux City, IA, formerly of Hubbard, NE passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at her residence.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE with Vicar David Hawkins officiating. Visitation with the family present will begin at 10:00 A.M. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery in Emerson, NE.
Joanne was born July 17, 1930 in Emerson, NE, the daughter of Thomas and Dora (Hinrich) Murray. She was raised in the Emerson area and graduated from Emerson High School in 1947. She married Lester Albrecht on February 6, 1948. The couple farmed in the Emerson area until 1959, then moved to a farm near Homer, NE. They were blessed with two sons, Dennis and Larry and one daughter, Jeanne.
Joanne's life surrounded gardening, flowers and the farm.
Survivors include her children, Larry Albrecht (Suzette Curry), and Jeanne (Gary) Johnson; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Jerry; 2 sisters, Patricia (Arvin) Jacobsma and Emilie Lofland.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester; a son, Dennis; her parents, Thomas and Dora Murray; 2 brothers, John and James; 2 sisters, Kathryn Hooper and Barbara Lofland; and a grandson, Nathan Albrecht.
