Tributes

Brett Eggert wrote on Mar 16, 2018:

"I was saddened to hear of Ed's passing. He and I had a small business together at one time and he was a great worker. He was always upbeat and smiling. If the world was filled with people as genuine as Ed it would be a much better place. "

Deanna wrote on Mar 15, 2018:

"I came across a picture of Ed last week and thought to myself, I need to check up on him. Sadly, I did not follow through. I was unaware of his passing until Wednesday afternoon. I have been flooded with memories. Reading the other tributes here, I have hope that I will see him again in heaven. I will never forget our vacation with him to Colorado and his infectious laugh. Ed was one of the hardest workers I have ever known. Great man that touched many lives wherever he went. Deanna Miller"

"I met Ed at the race track in the pits. We were both big Roger & Ryan Dolan fans, he was always so polite & thankful for everything. He was so excited when I surprised him with a 8x10 photo of his favorite driver. You will be missed at the track Ed but you can race forever now. Rest in peace friend."

John Morris wrote on Mar 13, 2018:

"There is so much to say about Ed. He was a GREAT guy who lived up to his full potential. He was a friend to everyone. He loved Tipton. He so enjoyed working hard. He also enjoyed visiting with his many friends around town. I knew Ed from the Tipton group home, operated by Discovery Living, where he enjoyed living with his friends. Ed was a model resident there. Ed loved going to church and ringing the bell to welcome people to Sunday services. He felt pride in earning the Eagle badge award even though he got a late start in Scouting. Ed was well-known in Tipton and recognized by nearly everyone. I very much enjoyed being his friend. He will be missed by many in eastern Iowa. In heaven Ed's disabilities will be no more. Rest in peace, Ed. John Morris, Traverse City, Michigan "

Dorothy Day wrote on Mar 12, 2018:

"I can't even begin to share the impact Ed has had on my life. We, me and my husband and 2 boys, adopted him into our family one Thanksgiving at church. He was all alone and I praise God that we had a few sweet years together. My boys loved grandpa Ed and he loved the boys as his own grandsons. One of my favorite memories is the double birthday party Ed and Everett had together. I loved his pure genuine love of God. Getting baptized on the same day was truly special. And singing together, so special. We had big plans for this year. He was working on walking and with his eyes fixed he was beyond excited to be able to come to church on Easter! I hold on to the absolute certainty that Ed is hand in hand with Jesus now. My goodness we miss him for now though. "
