Irene Helen Bushman

MADISON/WARWICK- Irene Helen Bushman (née Jagiellowicz), age 95, of Providence, RI passed away on March 10, 2018 in Madison, WI. She was born on July 22, 1922 in Providence, RI, daughter of Maria and Boleslaw Jagiellowicz. Irene's parents, immigrants from Poland, died during her childhood and she and her siblings were raised in an orphanage in downtown Providence. After graduating from high school, Irene became a registered nurse and married Earl Bushman Jr. in 1943. Together, they had three children: Marilyn, Steven, and Wade. In addition to being a mother and nurse, Irene was also an accomplished artist and a loving grandmother to her grandchildren.
Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Earl, and is survived by children Marilyn, Steven, and Wade; grandchildren Kinda, Emily, Mary, and Norah; and great-grandchildren Georgia, Harry, Owen, and Emma.
A visitation will be held at Cress Funeral Home, 3610 SPEEDWAY RD. MADISON, from 5:00-7:00PM on March 15, 2018. Burial will occur at the Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Exeter, RI beside her husband, Earl.
