FORT WORTH - Francisca Flores Gutierrez, 93, passed away Monday, March 12, 2018, at Universal Hospice in Fort Worth.
Francisca was born May 20, 1924, in Gulf, Texas, to Benita Martinez and Jorge Flores. She married Antonio F. Gutierrez on July 23, 1943, in Brownsville where they resided and raised their family. She kept the home fires burning while he served in the U.S. Army during World War II and while he recuperated from his combat wounds received on D-Day on Omaha Beach. She worked at Bishop's Print Shop for brief periods but was mainly a stay-at-home mom to her seven kids. She and Antonio made their home in Fort Worth after retirement where they were members of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church.
Frances was preceded in death by Antonio; her mother, Benita Martinez; and her siblings, Anastacia Ramirez, Simon Flores, Lorenzo Flores, Jose Flores, Lucila Espinosa and Guadalupe Martinez.
Survivors: Children, Mary Pettit, Perla Galvan, Yolanda Cervantes, Jorge Antonio Gutierrez, Cristina Hernandez, J. Lourdes Gutierrez and Ester Gutierrez; brother, Manuel Martinez and spouse, Lydia Martinez; grandchildren, Scott Pettit, Elyssa Gonzalez, Laura Jaime, David Franco, Anna Davis, Marissa Rustowicz, Alana Hays, Xoan Cardenas, Alessandro Cardenas, Monica McNeill, Marco Hernandez, Isaiah Lambert-Gutierrez, Faith Lambert-Gutierrez and Lauren Sweet; great-grandchildren, Dane Pettit, Analisa Fuentes, Jared Fuentes, Gisele Jaime, Emma Jaime, Sofia Jaime, Hannah Franco, Luke Franco, Leah Franco, Madelyn Rustowicz, Garrett McNeill, Owen McNeill, Travis McNeill, Matthew Hernandez, Makenna Hernandez, Adrianna Sweet, Aria Sweet and Amara Sweet; and great-great-grandaughter, Natalie Rodriquez
