In loving memory of

Maggie Jo Zaiger
September 19, 2012 - March 18, 2018

Maggie Jo Zaiger was born September 19, 2012, at the Manning Regional Healthcare Center and died March 18, 2018, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Maggie was a smart, sassy, brave, beautiful little girl. She was a girly girl, who loved clothes, shoes (but not wearing them), pink and purple, makeup, unicorns, and dollies.

Maggie watched YouTube videos constantly, from Baby Alive, LOL dolls and Hatchimals to makeup tutorials. She and Myah would play beauty shop, Maggie doing Myah's hair and nails and she was always ready to give beauty advice. She once told her Auntie Kate that her foundation was to light, and was well versed in contouring, highlighting and eye liner.

Maggie hated being dirty and would eat finger food with a fork so as not to get her hands sticky. Maggie's favorite meal was spaghetti, though she claimed to hate tomatoes and noodles.  She loved dance and gymnastics and was always somersaulting and doing cart wheels in the living room, yet could not walk through an empty room without hurting herself. Maggie was a teenager in a five year old's body and could often be heard saying, "That's not fair."

She was a bright little girl. She loved school, her teachers, her school friends, and learning to read and write. Maggie loved riding the bus and was so excited to start kindergarten next fall with her best school friend, Irelyn.

In heaven to greet her was her friend, Austin. We know they are playing Peppa Pig and Chutes and Ladders. Maggie hated to lose and would frequently change the rules midgame so that she would win.

But most of all, Maggie loved her family. She was her mother's "mini me". She and Myah were inseparable and she wanted to be just like her big sister, Grace.

Left to cherish her memory and miss her sweet smile include her mommy, Courtney Jayne; her daddy, Joe Zaiger; her siblings, Grace, Myah, Zachary and Autumn Zaiger; her grandparents, Marchelle and Greg England, Dennis Jayne, Eunice Zaiger and Mark Martens; her great-grandmothers, Darlene Williamson, Bev England, and Grace Martens; her Auntie Katie England, Aunt Heather (Richard) Petersen; Uncle James Martens; and greats-aunts/uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Visitation with family will be from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 22, 2018, at the First United Methodist Church in Audubon, Iowa.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 23, 2018, at the First United Methodist Church in Audubon, Iowa, with burial in Maple Grove Cemetery in Audubon, Iowa.

Services are entrusted to Hockenberry Family Care Funeral Home in Audubon, Iowa.
