In loving memory of

Erik G. Cloud
October 18, 1977 - March 27, 2018

Erik G. Cloud, 40, Highwoods Road, Saugerties died suddenly on March 27, 2018. Erik was born in Kingston on October 18, 1977. He was a lifelong Ulster County resident.

Erik worked in construction, loved the outdoors, and enjoyed participating in mud bogging. Erik was a loyal friend and considered a brother to everyone who knew him. Erik was the guy who would give you the shirt off his back or come out in the middle of a blizzard to help when needed.

Erik is survived by his mother, Lorraine A. Cloud, to whom he was a most loving son, his grandmother, Marion R. Benz, who always had a special place in his heart, and by his late spouse's (Kate) children, Autumn Healy and Colin Smith, who brought great joy to his life. In addition to his many aunts, uncles and cousins, he will be sorely missed by Princess Woo.

Services to be announced.

"Wow this is so hard to believe. Although we only really knew each other through Tuesday night darts, I've know you now for many years. My heart is breaking and will miss you. I always said you reminded me of my son and now I see you share the same birthday, how weird. Sending many hugs to your family. May the comfort of family and friends help ease their heartache. Sharing many memories of good times and knowing your with Katie brings some comfort. Rest in Peace Eric until we meet again. ~ Cindy ~"

"Erik, After I heard the news, I google searched your name on the internet. It was like a 2018 version of the movie "Stand By Me." Instead of reading a news paper, I was looking at the internet while idling on a highway. The memories that ran though my mind weren't the movie's plot, but a story of our friendship during our childhood & teen years (the close knit group of us back then). Nothing was ever easy for us, but maybe that was just part of life growing up in the 80's & 90's in a majority lower to lower middle income town; for most of us at least. I'll never forget all the things that made us who we are; the good and bad. I wish we all could have done things differently... I hope you're in a better place and know that in spirit, I'm still your friend, even after all these years since I've last seen or spoke with you. If our Christian upbringing has any truth, I'll see you again buddy. Until then, Godspeed..."

"This still hard to believe. But when I think back on the time we had together. From him coming out to get me in a blizzard because we were bored to the time we all went up Pulaski salmon fishing he always made you laugh. Something could be going completely wrong by time he was done cursing about an complaining you would be laughing so hard. He will be missed so much by many"

"This has been really hard. We may not of talked everyday or seen each in awhile But I've always loved you you were my favorite cuzo I I have so many wonderful memories from when we were kids I always use to love take trips to grandma's because I knew you would be there. Like when we would sneak out in to the woods to the Cory pit because we knew granny said not to. Or when you would hang your self from tree's so you could stretch yourself so you could date my best friend. All the times we skipped school and you me and Dorian would walk home all the way from school soon as we knew no one was there. You, Me, Dorian and Lori spent the night in that old abandon house across from Dorian's I could go on and on about are childhood and how great it was to be with you. you were always a great kind friendly person that had a big smile on your face.... Prays for auntie and grandma. I'll always love my favorite cuzo ???Melissa??? "
