Evelyn L. Arensdorf, 77, of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday morning, April 3, 2018, at the Jackson County Regional Health Center in Maquoketa, Iowa.
A celebration of Evelyn's life will be held at 11 A.M., Friday, April 6, 2018, at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 9:30 A.M. Burial will be at the Mount Hope Cemetery, Maquoketa, Iowa.
Evelyn Leona Kinyon was born on June 1, 1940 in Maquoketa, Iowa, to Vernon and Mabel (Clark) Kinyon. She was a graduate of Maquoketa High School. She married James Sylvester Arensdorf on August 31, 1957 in Maquoketa, Iowa. To this union three children were born, Renee, Dawn and James.
Evelyn first worked at Clinton Engines in Maquoketa for a short time, then Maquoketa Care Center, and lastly as a childcare provider at Sunshine Daycare in Maquoketa for over 20 years.
Evelyn enjoyed flowers, Sunday drives, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and playing "Words With Friends" on the computer with family.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband James Arensdorf of Maquoketa, IA; children, Renee (Gordon) Waite of Chandler, AZ, Dawn (Tom) Christiansen of Copperas Cove, TX, and James (Suzanne) Arensdorf of Cypress, TX; 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson Derek Arensdorf, and a brother Lloyd Kinyon.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, an Evelyn L. Arensdorf memorial fund has been established.
