Evelyn Irene Ludwig, 96, of Adair, Iowa, passed away Thursday, March 1, 2018, at the Community Care Center in Stuart, Iowa.
Evelyn was born November 16, 1921, in Menlo, Iowa, to Ralph and Ruby (Miller) Britt. She attended Menlo Consolidated School graduating with the class of 1941. After graduation, she helped several families in their homes with housework.
In 1945, she married Leo Paul Ludwig in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Casey, Iowa. They were the parents of Paul Douglas Ludwig and David Britt Ludwig.
Preceding Evelyn in death were her parents, Ralph and Ruby Britt; husband, Leo Ludwig; and sons, David Ludwig and Paul Ludwig.
Surviving Evelyn are her sister, Elizabeth Sorensen of Tulsa, OK; nephews, Dennis and Steven Nevins both of Tulsa, OK, Larry (Betty) Ludwig of Adair, IA, Kenneth (Marilyn) Ludwig of Casey, IA and Don (Maxine) Ludwig of Des Moines, IA; niece, Diane Brown of Tulsa, OK; great-nieces and nephews, many cousins, as well as many friends in Casey and Stuart.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at St. John's Catholic Church in Adair, Iowa, with burial in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Casey, Iowa.
Family and friends may visit at St. John's Catholic Church Parish Hall during a time for refreshments following the committal service.
