Joan Smith, 87, of Iowa City, died Sunday, April 8, 2018 at Windmill Manor in Coralville. Her family will greet friends Friday from 5pm to 7pm at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service in Iowa City. Private inurnment of cremains will be in Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Iowa City. In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials may be directed to The Salvation Army. Survivors include her son Dean Smith (Mary Estle Smith) of Iowa City; granddaughters, Jessica Hotz (Michael) and Amy Smith; and a longtime friend, Betty Raher of Cedar Rapids, who was just like a sister, and several nieces and nephews.
