Diane M. Jervis, 86, of Marshalltown, IA, passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2018, at Glenwood Place Assisted Living and Memory Care in Marshalltown. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1011 S 3rd Ave, in Marshalltown. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, April 13, 2018, at Trinity Lutheran Church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Anderson Funeral Homes of Marshalltown. Diane was born on March 3, 1932, in northeastern Iowa, to Kenneth and Lillian (Benne) Bennett. She grew up in Manchester, IA, and graduated from Manchester High School in 1950. Diane earned her bachelor's degree from Iowa State College in home economics in 1954. On October 3, 1954, Diane was united in marriage to Glendon Jervis at First Lutheran Church in Manchester. Together they had three children. She was president of the Iowa Women's League of Voters for some time and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Marshalltown. Diane was an avid tennis player, a skilled seamstress, an oil painter, and loved baking. She often had freshly baked cookies ready for her children when they returned home from school. Diane also enjoyed baking and decorating elaborate cakes, even for the smallest occasion.
Diane will be dearly missed by her three children, Mark Jervis of Marshalltown, Mitchell Jervis of Black Hawk, CO, and Amanda (Greg) Jervis McGrew of Boulder, CO; and a grandson, Reece Jervis Titus. She is also survived by a brother, John M. (Kathie) Bennett of Franklin, WI, and two nephews, Brad and Brett Bennett. Diane was preceded in death by her husband, Glen, and her parents.
