"Bob Brandt was a peach of a guy. I remember Bob from my younger days when he spent many a hour in the snowplow with my dad, Ervin Muhlenbruck. Bob and my dad hit if off as friends when Bob started working in Hampton. Bob was my dad's "wing man" in the truck. I remember so many nights during the years when the DOT guys would have to work nights and holidays to keep the roads open. Lots of Christmas' and New Years', as you know, were spent without them to celebrate. Bob probably heard more hunting stories from my dad than anyone, but that's what my dad enjoyed was talking about hunting and his dogs. Bob always turned a listening ear. My dad would share with me that some nights when they had been out plowing during the night and then go out again early the next morning that Bob would take a nap and my dad would run the wing and plow while Bob rested. My dad loved his job. Just as Karen Suter shared there were some wonderful guys that kept the Franklin County roads open. Blessing to them and their families, too. Ron Muhlenbruck"
