Lorraine "Arlene" Runge
August 18, 1928 - April 8, 2018

Lorraine "Arlene" Runge, 89, of Keokuk, IA, passed away on April 8, 2018, at her home.

Arlene was born on August 18, 1928 in Aberdeen, South Dakota, the daughter of William M. and Gladys E. Witthuhn Moore. She was united in marriage on July 4, 1947 to Theodore W. Runge in Keokuk, IA. He preceded her in death on November 18, 2010. She graduated from SCC in the Nursing Program and completed her BS from University of Iowa. Arlene served three years in the West Indies as a nurse educator and traveled to several foreign countries. She was a member of The Church of All Saints Catholic Church and volunteer for Lee County Hospice. She enjoyed crochet and needle work and loved outdoor activities, especially gardening. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy.

Arlene is survived by her two sons: William J. (Marlene) Runge of Blue Grass, IA and John R. (Patti) Runge of Keokuk, IA; four daughters: Susan L. (Stanley) Dohrn of Keokuk, IA, Deborah A. (Mark) Morningstar of Madison, WI, Carol A. (Dave) Logsdon of Newport, OR and Karen E. (Brian) Grant of O'Fallon, MO, and twenty-two grandchildren.

Arlene was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 10:00 AM at the Church of All Saints, Keokuk, with Rev. Robert Lathrop officiating.

Visitation will be after 4:00 PM on Friday, April 13, 2018 with family meeting friends from 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM at 1212 Concert Street at DeJong - Greaves Celebration of Life Center and there will be a Christian Vigil Service at 8:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Arlene Runge's name to Keokuk Catholic Schools or Lee County Hospice.
