Raymond Miller
January 4, 1948 - April 7, 2018

Raymond Miller, 70, passed away on April 7, 2018, at home with his family by his side, after fighting a courageous battle with brain cancer.

Raymond was born January 4, 1948, in Burlington, Iowa, the son of Amel and Ethel (Smith) Miller. He was united in marriage to Deborah McCracken on August 4, 1973. She survives.

Raymond grew up in Farmington, IA. He graduated from Harmony High School in 1966. He went to Graceland College for two years. He graduated from Iowa State University in 1970 with a BS degree in Agriculture and Animal Science. He moved to Keokuk, Iowa in 1997.

Raymond worked as a farmer from a young age until 1990. He worked at Hubingers/Roquette until August, 2011. He was a member of the Local 48 Grain Millers Union.

Raymond loved his family unconditionally. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was the grandchildren's biggest fan in all their activities. He was very proud of his family. He loved the Lord and served him as an Elder in The Community of Christ Church. He enjoyed helping others and always offered to lend a hand.

Raymond is survived by his wife Debbie Miller of Keokuk, IA; children: Michelle Miller, Ft. Madison, IA, Valarie (Ricky Jr.) Barlow of Montrose, IA, and Kristen (Jason Dinwiddie) Miller , Keokuk , IA, daughter in law Stephanie Miller of Quincy IL; Grandchildren: Chelsey and Jessica Carnes, Skylar and Caitlyn Counts, Brooklynn Jones, Elaina and Chase Barlow, Zoey and Karli Savage, Riley Miller, Callie, Alex and Eli Miller, Chris Clay, honorary grandchildren: Maddi Miller and Memphis Anderson, great Grandchildren Cameron and James Dewitt, Ianna and Jaxon Fiekert, two sisters: Shirley (Dan) Spray, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, Theresa (John) Robertson of Farmington, IA, and a brother Amel (Barb) Miller of Tulsa OK, brother- in-law Bob (Kenny) McCracken of Newton, IA, mother-in-law Kay Markovick and several nieces and nephews.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, his son Nicholas Wayne Miller, father in law, Robert McCracken, and step father in law Nick Markovich.

A Celebration of his life will be at 4:00 PM Saturday April 14, 2018 at DeJong- Greaves Celebration of Life Center at 917 Blondeau Street in Keokuk, Iowa with High Priest Dan Spray, Evangelist John Robertson, and High Priest Amel Wayne Miller officiating.

Visitation will be held at the 917 Blondeau Street at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Center from 2 to 4 PM directly before the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family.
