March 15, 1943 - April 9, 2018
John Lewis Byrd, 75, passed away April 9, 2018, surrounded by family after a short bout with cancer.
Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, April 12,2018 at Memory Chapel with visitation starting at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow at Oakland Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Paul Brashier will officiate.
John was self-employed, a loving husband and a father to two sons and multiple grandchildren. He was an avid outdoorsman that loved fishing with his wife of fifty-one years. Through all of his sickness he kept his great attitude and sense of humor until the end.
He is going to be missed dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Clara Byrd; sisters, Vallie Ree Varner (E.G), Johnnie Lee Brownlee (Calvin V.) and Bonnie Sue Byrd; and one granddaughter, Jane Allison Byrd.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Byrd; sons, Alvin (Alethea) Byrd, and Scott (Leigh) Byrd; brother, Tommy (Jane) Byrd; grandchildren, Blake, Kaleigh, Cole, and Dalton Byrd, Peyton (Kole) Hill, and Hayden (Caleb) Powell; great granddaughter, Tatum Leigh Hill; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Corey Brownlee, Justin Brownlee, Kyle Byrd, Mike Brownlee, Ed Brownlee, and Brian Byrd.
