Wilbur "Bill" Crawford

KEOTA-Wilbur "Bill" Crawford, age 81, of rural Keota, died Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at his home.
Bill was born September 4, 1936, in rural Keota, to Omer and Violet (Bond) Crawford and graduated from Keota High School in 1954. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict, where he was one of the youngest officers promoted to Staff Sergeant at age 21. On April 8, 1972, he married Caroline Greiner in Richland. Bill was an agent for Banker's Life & Casualty from 1985 until 2006, then was an independent sales agent. He was a member of Holy Trinity Parish - St. Mary Catholic Church and was a lifetime member of the President's Honor Circle with Banker's Life & Casualty. Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, antiquing and his grandchildren's activities.
Survivors include his wife: Caroline; three children: Carol (Howie) Akins of Knoxville, Tennessee, Patrick (Kim) Crawford of Keota and Christine (Milton) Wilson of Moravia; four grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; a brother: Michael Crawford of Dallas, Texas and a sister: Peggy Ackland of Albert Lee, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws: Bernard and Adella Greiner; grandson: Dawson Crawford; sister: Betty Seitman and two brothers: Patrick Crawford and Duane Crawford.

Memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Powell Funeral Home in Keota, with Rev. Jake Greiner officiating. Burial will be at Holy Trinity Cemeteries - St. Mary Cemetery in Keota, with military rites by Keota V.F.W. Post #4716. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 13, 2018, at the funeral home.
