Vera Farmer Hinshaw
December 9, 1926 - April 10, 2018

Vera Farmer Hinshaw, age 91 of Winchester, passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Southern Manor. She was born in Kimball, Tennessee on December 9, 1926 to the late Jesse Eras and Anna (Akins) Farmer. Vera was a devoted homemaker and a member of Cowan Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and will be remembered for being a loving mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, Vera is preceded in death by her husband, William Donald Hinshaw; brothers, James Farmer, Carl Farmer, Clyde Farmer, Clarence Farmer, and Laster Farmer; and sisters, Lillie Mines, and Frances Mason. Vera is survived by her son, Danny (Louise) Hinshaw of Cowan; daughter, Sandra Hinshaw (Joe) Tankersley of Winchester; grandchildren, Dace Hinshaw, Dara Lamb, and Patrick Tankersley; great-grandchildren, Demi Binkley, Drake Binkley, Madison Tankersley, and Hinsley Tankersley; sisters, Betty Gifford of Illinois, Mary Miller of Smyrna, and Peggy Lilliclap of Nashville; and beloved former daughter-in-law, Dale Hinshaw of Winchester. Visitation will be from 11am-1pm Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 pm in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Pittenger officiating.
