Mary Alice Johnston
August 18, 1937 - April 11, 2018

Mary Alice Johnston, age 80 of Decherd, passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems. A native of Franklin County, she was born in Winchester on August 18, 1937 to the late Elmer and Flora Sherrill Hill. Alice was a devoted homemaker. She loved her home and working in her yard, which she kept immaculate. She had a mastering art in crocheting and cross stitching, and baking cakes which she generously gave away. In addition to her parents, Alice is preceded in death by her brothers, Hazel Gipson and J.M. Hill; sisters, Gladys Hill, Eleanor Teters, Jean Turner, and Margie Steele. She is survived by her daughters, Donna (Eddie) Woodall of Decherd, and Debbie (Randy) Hill of Decherd; grandchildren, Jared (Angela) Woodall, Jamie (James) Price, and Justin (JoCarole) Woodall; and great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Brandon, Ellie Rose, Mason, Jack, Luke, Eva Grace, and Daisy Kate. Visitation will be from 10:30am-12:30 pm on Friday, April 13, 2018 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 12:30 pm in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Rev. Dwight Duckworth officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Garner Cemetery. The family wishes to thank Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems Skilled Care and Southern Manor for their excellent care.
