Jean Marilyn Rodenburg

Jean Marilyn Rodenburg, age 94, passed away April 11, 2018, at Bethany Heights. Jean was born May 20, 1923, in Council Bluffs to the late Carl and Constance Nelsen, both of Denmark. She was a graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School, and was united in marriage to Gene Rodenburg on September 2, 1950. To this union, three children were born, Mary, Karen and Edward. Jean formerly worked at Dr. Weaver's Dental Office, and was a homemaker. She loved to crochet, sew and do needlepoint. Jean was a member of Saint John Lutheran Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Anna Heath, Carl Nelsen, Sylvia Bettis, Elna Mae McNeese, Arthur Nelsen; son-in-law, H. John Priebe. Survivors include her husband of 67 years Gene Rodenburg, daughters, Mary Cano, of Fritch, TX., Karen Priebe of Council Bluffs; son, Edward (Lynda) Rodenburg of Omaha; five grandsons, Bryan (Julie) Wakefield, David Wakefield, Brandon (Liz) Rodenburg, Matthew (Angie) Rodenburg, Eric (Jennifer) Priebe; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert (Dee) Nelsen of Yankton, S.D.; many nieces and nephews.
