Bill Stinger
July 9, 1935 - April 23, 2018

Bill Stinger, 82, of South Sioux City, NE passed away on Monday, April 23, 2018 at a Sioux City hospital.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, April 30, 2018 at First Presbyterian Church in South Sioux City, NE with Rev. Rex Wentzel officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, NE.

Bill was born on July 9, 1935 in Pender, NE, the son of Earl and Ellen (Orr) Stinger. He graduated from South Sioux City High School and attended college at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. Bill married Sylvia Nixon in 1958 in Dakota City, NE. They were South Sioux City residents for over 50 years. He owned and operated Stinger's Proved Sire Service until he retired.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in South Sioux City, was a volunteer for the Dakota City Fire Dept. and a longtime 4-H leader. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren, Husker football and golfing.

Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Stinger; sons, Larry (Julie) Stinger of South Sioux City, NE and Russell (Charlene) Stinger of Elizabethtown, KY; 4 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; a brother, Terry (Elaine) Stinger of Wonder Lake, IL; and brother-in-law, Norman Hellbusch of Humphrey, NE.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Ellen Stinger; and a sister, Earlene Hellbusch.
