Dorothy Landt, 95, of Gladbrook, IA, passed away Sunday, April 29, 2018, at Westbrook Acres Nursing Home in Gladbrook. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 4, 2018, at Peace United Church of Christ, 201 Johnston St, Gladbrook. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 3, 2018, at Peace United Church of Christ. Interment will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Gladbrook. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Gladbrook Chapel of Anderson Funeral Homes. Memorials may be directed to 88 Keys, Peace United Church of Christ, and the Food Pantry of Gladbrook. Dorothy was born November 6, 1922, to George and Victorine (Eimers) Pappas in Conrad, IA. She graduated from Gladbrook High School in 1940. In her early years, Dorothy worked as a telephone operator at Iowa Telephone Company in Gladbrook. On December 21, 1946, she was united in marriage to Ray Landt in Waterloo, IA. Dorothy dedicated her time to raising her five children, Ellen, Mike, Joe, Rod, and Ila. She was a member of the Peace United Church of Christ in Gladbrook, the American Women's Legion Auxiliary, the Gladbrook Bowling Association, and the 500 Marathon Club. In her free time, she enjoyed music - especially being a part of the church choir, playing cards, and knitting.

Dorothy is survived by her husband of over 70 years, Ray; children Ellen (Philip) Skelley of Lee's Summit, MO, Mike (Ronda) Landt of Zimmerman, MN, Joe Landt of Gladbrook, Rod (Terri) Landt of Albion, IA, and Ila (David) Willis of Grinnell, IA; 13 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and seven great great grandchildren. Dorothy is preceded in death by her brother, Jack Pappas, and her sister, Dara Wooten.
