Janis Johnson

Janis Johnson,
68, of Indianapolis, departed this life May 1, 2018 at her home. Janis was born August 8, 1949 in Indianapolis to the late Raymond and Nalena (Campbell) Lasley. She grew up and attended Manual High School in Indianapolis and worked at Flutes in the accounting department for 26 years. She retired in June of 2017. Janis loved auto racing and could often be found around the country's best racetracks on weekends. She also enjoyed relaxing with a good book, chasing good times in the motorhome, and easy rides on the Yamaha Touring Bike. She always put her family first, and especially loved spoiling her granddaughter Olivia in her later years. She was preceded in death by her sister, Karen Lasley and brother, Jack Lasley. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 38 years, Kenneth Todd Johnson; her loving son, Derek Johnson; her dear granddaughter, Olivia Paige Johnson and her devoted younger sister, Susan Lasley. Janis is also survived by several wonderful nieces and nephews and a host of other dear family and friends. Visitation for Janis will be from 6 - 8 pm on Friday, May 4th at Leppert Mortuary - Nora Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 pm on Saturday at the mortuary with additional visitation there beginning at 1:00 pm. Private interment will follow at Washington Park North Cemetery.
