Mary Ellen Schulz

Mary Ellen Schulz, 61, of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away on Thursday morning, May 3, 2018, at her home in Maquoketa, Iowa.

Graveside services celebrating Mary's life will be held at the Hickory Grove Cemetery, rural Monmouth, Iowa. Cremation rites have been accorded. There is no public visitation. The Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa is caring for the family.

Mary Ellen Clark was born on November 4, 1956 in Maquoketa, Iowa to Carlyle L. and Berna L. (McCarty) Clark. She was a 1974 graduate of the Delwood High School, Delmar, Iowa.

Mary married Richard A. Schulz on April 24, 1976 in Delmar, Iowa. He preceded her in death on October 19, 2011.

Mary had worked at Walmart in Maquoketa as the Jewerly Department Manager. She enjoyed going to auctions and spending time with her grandchildren.

Those left to honor her memory include her children, Jason Schulz of Maquoketa, IA, and Miranda (Justin) Renstrom of Bettendorf, IA; her mother, Berna Sagers of Maquoketa, IA; 3 grandchildren, Karlee Gerdes, Camdyn Renstrom, and Ariana Renstrom; and sisters Barbara (Dennis ) Waugh of Dubuque, IA and Susan (Randy) Weirup of Maquoketa, IA. She was preceded in death by her father, her husband Richard, and a son Joshua Schulz on November 30, 2014.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a Mary Ellen Schulz memorial fund has been established.
