In loving memory of

Shizue Kronen
April 29, 2018

Shizue Takami (Dutton) Kronen, passed away Sunday, April 29th at her home in Knoxville, Tennessee, where she resided with her daughter's family after being diagnosed with cancer in December 2016. Shizue was born in Tokyo, Japan in 1936 and then moved to Hobbs, New Mexico when she was just 23 years old. Shizue moved to Omaha in 1963 where she became a well known florist and floral designer at Brandeis Department Store, then at her own flower shop, Aquila Court. She later worked at Bag and Save, Albertson's, and Hy-Vee grocery stores where her customers, family and friends will never forget her infectious smile.
Shizue is survived by a host of family and friends, her daughter, Shirley; son-in-Law Mark Vaughan, and grandson, Derek. The Kimbrough family (Kitty, Brian, Kerry, Mary Pat and Katie) was welcomed into her life as her own children and they lovingly referred to Shizue as "Grandma Suzie". She is also survived by her husband, Thomas Kronen; her brothers, Isumu Takami and Ryoshin Takami; and sister, Atsuko Akiya. Shizue had a heart big enough for everyone that knew her and will be remembered most for her kindness and thoughtfulness.
Memorial Service will be at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 7909 Mormon Bridge Road, Omaha, Nebraska, on Saturday, May 12th at 10 AM. In spite of being a florist, Shizue would have appreciated donations be made in lieu of flowers, to her favorite charity, St. Jude Children's Research, at http://giftfunds.stjude.org/Suzie
