In loving memory of

Nancy Christopher
April 9, 1944 - May 2, 2018

Stoughton - Nancy Jean Christopher, 74, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 within hours of returning from Arizona where she enjoyed Winter's sun.

Nancy was born on April 9, 1944 in LaJolla, CA to Herman and Eleanor Hoekstra. She attended Homewood Flossmoor High School where she was an honor student and prom queen. Nancy graduated from the University of Indiana with a degree in Education and taught briefly at Kegonsa Elementary before staying at home to raise her three children.

Nancy became a very successful realtor for Century 21 in Stoughton and specialized in lake property, specifically Lake Kegonsa. Throughout her career many of her customers became close friends. She enjoyed the simple pleasures in life which included spending time with family and friends, gardening, and summer weekend trips traveling around Wisconsin in her convertible with the Madison Convertible Club. Nancy was an honest, fair and kind soul who always lived by the Golden Rule - treat others as you'd want to be treated. She made friends easily and treated everyone with respect and dignity. Her infectious laugh, witty sense of humor and beautiful smile will be missed by all.

She will be greatly missed by her husband of 35 years, Peter; her children, Candice (Bill) Graf, Soni (Chris) Haag and Chad Strutzel. She is survived by her siblings, Helen Hoekstra and Ken (Sallie) Hoekstra. Nancy is also survived by her step-children: Laura (Matt), Carl (Holly), Audrey (John). Grandchildren: Jason, Christopher, Kassie, Jackson, Ellayna, Lauren, Savanna, Sawyer, Charles, Heather, Nicholas, Ryan and Gerald. Dear Friends: Former husband Vern (Barb) Strutzel, John and Sonia Holtan and many others.

A celebration of Nancy's life will be held from 12 noon until 3:00 pm on Sunday, May 20, 2018 at STOUGHTON COUNTRY CLUB, 3165 Shadyside Dr, Stoughton, WI 53589.

"Nancy you welcomed me into your family when I moved to the mid west from California after graduating high school. I remember going to Indiana to visit you and playing with the kids in what I remember as being a huge grassy backyard. You were always smiling and laughing at their antics, not mine I am sure... You will always be remembered by all of us who loved you. I have always been proud to be your cousin and I always will be. You will always be with us. "

"The last time I was ,with Nancy was at my Mother's memorial in the mid-1990,s in Flossmoor, Illinois. Fond memories of growing up next door (for 18 years) with her. Wonderful times with all the Hoekstras! to say the least. What a bond we had. I was thrilled to wear the pale pink prom gown the year after she had been prom queen. I ofcourse, did not look as radiant and royal as she did, but.... hey. Wish I could be there for her Celebration. Love to you all, Helen, Ken and all the Hoekstras."

"Nancy & I have been friends since 1980...the memories are rich. Our home was her first real estate sale. From that time we were best friends sharing time at our homes, eating out, watching our "kids" grow up, and best of all, snowmobiling. She was a loyal, loving, sympathetic friend. Sending love to all of you. "We were given memory so that we might have roses in December." Gloria Jenkins"

"Nancy was one of the nicest ladies I?ve ever met. I had the honor of meeting her when Keith and I joined C21 Affiliated. She was an inspiration, always a smile. You could not ask for a nicer more knowledgeable Real Estate Agent then Nancy. Keith and I had some wonderful memories of our time together in Mexico and Madison. My heart goes out to the family. You have my deepest sympathy "

"My dear cousin. My loving memories of you span our lifetime together. Beginning as toddlers up until our last shared family reunion a few years ago in Washington D.C. (I believe). Our times together have always been filled with love, laughter and mischief but most of all love. I hold you in my heart to this day and I know when we meet again we'll pick up where we left off before illness set in. Oceans of Love, Chris Chittick Daly"
