Leo L. Plummer
September 26, 1930 - May 4, 2018

Leo L. Plummer, 87, of Burlington, entered into heaven at 3:00 a.m. Friday, May 4, 2018 at Blair House in Burlington.
Born September 26, 1930 in Mount Pleasant, he was the son of William and Ida (Newman) Plummer. He married Delores Van Osdol on June 18, 1954 at the First Church of Nazarene on Washington Street.
Leo attended New London schools. He was a staff sergeant in the United States Army during the Korean War. He gave his life over to the Lord at an early age and was actively involved in the First Church of the Nazarene. He worked as a manager at Brown Lynch Scott, at Iowa Plate and Window Glass, in sales at Westland Ford in Burlington and Hines Motors in New London, and retired from the Burlington Community School District after driving a school bus for 10 years. He enjoyed woodworking projects, hunting, fishing and water skiing. He was a proud Iowa Hawkeyes and Green Bay Packers fan. He truly loved God, his family, his church and his friends.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 64 years, Delores; one son, Clark (Josephine) Plummer of Fairfield; two daughters, Becky (Dennis) Campbell of Burlington and Beth (Lonn) Walker of Mt. Pleasant; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; sisters, Bertha Schadt of Mt. Pleasant, Phyllis Parker of Salem, Charlotte (Dick) Allen of Marion; brothers, Marvin (Barb) Plummer of Kentucky, Halvor (Diana) Plummer of Burlington; special in-laws, John (Mary) Van Osdol and Doris Green of Ohio, Dorothy Cole of West Burlington; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers; Bill and Burton Plummer.
The service for Mr. Plummer will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 8th at Lunning Chapel. Rev. Terry Vance will officiate. Interment will be in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard. Family will receive friends 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
