Melba Phillips, 82, of Ferguson, IA, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2018, at Southridge Specialty Care in Marshalltown. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at Anderson Funeral Homes, 405 W Main Street, Marshalltown. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at Anderson Funeral Homes. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Marshalltown. Melba was born on August 15, 1935, to Fredrick and Edna (Pearson) Moody in Fredericksburg, IA. She attended Fredericksburg schools. Melba was united in marriage to Richard Phillips, Sr. on November 9, 1953 in Missouri. They were blessed with six children. She enjoyed planting flowers, playing bingo, cooking, camping, fishing, and she loved her dogs. Most of all, Melba loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Melba will be dearly missed by her children Deb (Duane) Pansegrau of Toledo, IA, Richard Phillips, Jr. of Ferguson, and Vicki Westcott of Ferguson; eight grandchildren: David, DaNette, Dustin, Cody, Ryan, Tanner, Justin, and Jake; six great-grandchildren: Addison, Gage, Jazmine, Jayla, Logan, and Lilly; and a sister, Barbie Slick. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; her parents; sons Gary, Tommy, and David; sisters Marvel, Clyda, and Beula; and brothers Francis and Melvin.
